Reflux in the head...and some good news

So first let's start with some good news:  the show has been picked up by GPTV and we begin production ASAP.  My producer/friend Huitt and I had a fantastic meeting in Atlanta yesterday and we have the official green light on the new series to be called Hans Cooks the South: Georgia.  The first season will be dedicated solely to GA and the produce we do best like peanuts, peaches, onions, pecans, etc.  I can't wait to get started. We're shooting it in HD to boot.  It's been said I'm too skinny for wide-screen, so I guess I need to fatten up!  So a big thank you to all of you who took the time to drop a note to GPTV about the pilot show.  Thank you thank you!

Speaking of, I've actually lost a couple pounds since we've returned from TX.  I had a MASSIVE reflux episode the other night that sent acid all the way up into my sinus cavity, into my larynx, and even my lung.  It was truly one of the most awful things you can imagine.  I'm going to hop in to my local Dr. tomorrow to make sure there's not any fluid still in my lungs.  I'm at high risk for aspiration pneumonia, so better safe than sorry.  I suppose I'm lucky that the reflux doesn't happen more often, but when it does, it's brutal.

So much to do.  I'm teaching a class at the Piedmont Cancer Wellness center on Wednesday, so if you can attend, please do.  I'm really trying to get my cookbook done this year too.  Time to run!

Gesundheit!

Hans

Yucky! I've hiccuped and/or burped with that same outcome of stomach acids coming up into the nose. Burns like the dickens!
Glad for the good news but hoping (and praying) that the lungs are clear and the episodes won't happen again.
Good luck with the Wellness Class. You're one busy guy.
How was the pain block? Get relief?

Well first of all congrats on having the show picked up, that's WONDERFUL! Sorry to hear about the reflux issues, man that sounds just incredibly painful. Hope you're doing better.

Good news and horrible physical experience abounds, Hans! Congrats on being cancer free and getting the show picked up - both wonderful are terrific bits of news!

Sorry about the weight loss - that's not in The Plan! Stop that!

And especially sorry about the reflux and pain block, et al. It oughta be easier by now, but overall, I'm sure you'll take this over the alternative! And, with all that happens to you and others like you, they'll be perfecting techniques and treatments for those to come, and I know you care about that.

Keep up the good news! And hey, I keep looking for Lumplings on Amy's Etsy (where I now have a shop) and there are never any there! (Just thought you'd pass that along - I did send her a message via Etsy.)

Hans, congratulations on the new show but most of all, the good report from Texas. I will be watching your shows also - I, too, e-mailed the station after your holiday show.
